Things about Cornwall
A life spent growing up at the far edge of the island…
Cornwall is where I was born & raised. It inspires everything that I create – words, images, drawings… fascinated by the ethereal and enchanting in the every day, I’m the sort of girl that finds true happiness in the feeling of cold water on my bare toes, the breeze in my hair and the delight in the glow of a wintery crescent moonrise.
A lover of lore & nature, you’ll find lots on my blog celebrating the joys of embracing a life in such a peculiar & charming place like Cornwall. I write over on the Creative Countryside Journal too as their resident Folklore editor. When I’m not dreaming up words, you’ll find me combing the beach for treasures, exploring sea caves and doing my best to learn the names of the stars.
I’m also a professional Photographer too, but you can read more about that over in my portfolio.
Prose of the Day
I had a dream the other week, where the earth lost gravity and everything fell into the sky. Everything gone and given like tokens to the great sky idol. We had to hang onto the trees for our lives while we watched all of our earthly possessions; trinkets, beds & televisions fall away. When the earth righted itself again, all that was left behind were the trees, the grass, the ocean and us. I was happier this way, because I didn’t have to worry about getting my car fixed. All that was left was just to ‘be’ and enjoy ‘being’.
Guersin - Sarah
“We were still children, for all that we thought we weren’t. We were in that in-between place, the twilight between childish things and grown-up things”
